Central Florida has a unique position in the world as a hub for turbine, energy and space technologies.

With the presence of Siemens Power Generation, Pratt & Whitney, Mitsubishi Power Systems, Elliott Microturbines, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Kennedy Space Center in or near Central Florida, the University of Central Florida has a unique opportunity and responsibility for taking the leadership in innovation and advanced technology development for:
(1) turbines for propulsion as well as power generation,
(2) portable power and energy systems for aviation/space/distributed
generation applications, and
(3) use of coal or biomass-derived, liquid or gaseous synthetic fuels for power generation and air/ground transportation.
