The Second Annual ASME Egg Drop Competition: July 16th at 6pm
in the Engineering 2 atrium
UCF ASME has invited all majors,
engineering and otherwise, to come and put their mechanical skills to
the test at our Second Annual Egg Drop competiion, on July
16th at
6pm in the Engineering 2 atrium. Participants will need to build a
device capable of protecting an egg from fracture due to the impact of
a two story drop onto a hard linoleum floor. On top of that, the device
needs to be simple, light, and as durable as possible, as the heavier,
more complicated, and more flimsy they are, the
more penalties will be incured under a point system. First
place
winner will recieve a prize of $100, with $30
for Second place , and $10 for Third, along with ASME at UCF
T-shirts! Entrants will need to bring their
devices with them on the day of the event.
Registration is $5,
which can be paid at the event (before it starts) or in
advance by contacting an officer or dropping by the ASME
office,
ENG 1-148. The rules packet with guidelines can be seen here; Click here for the
registration form.
